Gear

I will mention this straight up about this build, it is fairly gear dependant and not cheap. You need Deaths Oath, Meginord's Girdle, Rainbowstride's, well rolled Facebreaker's and average ES shield+helm. Getting quality Infernal Blow and Melee Splash is also highly HIGHLY recommended.

It may seem absurd to have a CI build that doesn't use a chest, but it's more than viable! My current gearset is not even close to top tier, I'm using a 340ES helm and a 410ES shield and currently sitting just over 7k ES. This is also by far the tankiest build I've ever played and the damage output is more than viable with correct gear and CI/Vaal Pact is just plain broken!

Chest
Okay so this build is somewhat built around this chest, its the one and only Deaths Oath!
http://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/Death's_Oath
When looking to pick one of these chests up I would suggest looking for relatively high attack speed and armour rolls, and either 6S5L yourself or try to pick one up already linked.

Gloves
THE source of your damage is completely supported by the Facebreaker gloves, so the higher the roll you can get the easier it will be for you! Try to get 950+!

Belt
Meginord's: A good chunk of your damage will come from this belt, the rolls don't matter as much, but each extra point of str helps for damage.

Boots
Rainbowstride's are amazing ES boots, try finding a high roll on "% of Block Chance applied to Spells" along with high ES roll.

Helm
So the helm is a fairly important piece as it's one of only two main ES things you'll be using that are't unique.
I would highly suggest trying to get at least 300+ ES with some resists.

Shield
Okay so here's the first hugely important piece of gear, you NEED a decent shield for this work. Because of all the % increased shield defences/ES nodes having a high ES shield with some resists makes a massive difference! I wouldn't settle for lower than 400 ES with resists, I personally use an Archon Kite as the 24% all res is boosted by passives.

Jewellery
So the final piece to this puzzle of a build is the Rings and Amulet(s). They are a huge source of your damage and you will require + phys damage on them to really be effective in breaking those faces!
For rings try to get around +4-10 on each ring along with decent +ES (around 30). The Amulet try to get +9-18 and again with decent +ES.

What about getting stunned and frozen you say?
I personally haven't had any problems with being chained stunned long enough to lose even 1/4 of my ES, after that it's one punch and instantly regen to full.
Cold damage and being frozen is a pain in the ass, if you want to take the easy route (or if playing HC/Ons) I would just use Dream Fragments and be done with it. For Default and Anarchy you can quite easily get by with a Cold Res flask with extra charges and dispel frozen.

Or my personal favourite is to use an Ample Medium Life Flask of Heat. It has 48 charges and uses 8 each use, that gives you 6 dispels and if you haven't killed the mobs by then you're doing something wrong :)
The charges also recharge incredibly quick while using Warlord's Mark curse!

Gems
In terms of quality on your gems its required in my opinion to get quality on Infernal Blow and Melee Splash, the extra radius is just too amazing to pass up. The rest of the gems can have no quality as it doesn't affect much at all, for some extra damage you can go with quality on your main damage gems like Melee Phys, Damage on Full Life, Multistrike, but that isn't 100% necessary like the main two.

Guide

Leveling
You can level up to the mid 60's any which way you please, you can start of freeze pulsing and transition into a slightly modified Dual Spork build (to follow a rough outline of the Facebreaker build, so its easy to transition).

Leveling is the same old stuff, pick your favourite start and make your way up to Merciless killing the Bandits in Normal, saving Oak in Cruel and killing them all again in Merciless.

Once you hit 62 you can transition from your current build into the CI/Vaal Pact build, going from Dual Spork is probably the easiest. You may also want to wait until 68 to transition over, but it depends on the level requirement on your helm and shield!

You can head into maps with around 5k ES which should be in the early 70's and start the fun.
You'll be running with Hatred, Disc, Grace as the main Auras, and with spare mana you can chuck on Anger and Wrath (not necessary as gives 100-200 dps only). Keep Blood Rage up at all times, you get free life leech and Frenzy Charges from it!. Warlords Mark will be your curse of choice, but Vulnerability is also an option for extra damage.

With my current gear I'm sitting and 4.1k evasion, and 5k armour (17.5k with a granite) and 40% block. My Infernal Blow dps is 10k with 1800 phys, 1900 fire and 1000 cold damage, so reflect or even double/triple reflect is no problem at all!

If you have the spare exalts or even the gear to get this build started I would highly recommend it! It's fun punching things and watching half the screen blow up, and I'm yet to find anything that's come close to killing me!

I'll upload a video of some gameplay when I have some time in the next few days.
Cheers for reading, cya!

You list this under Hardcore and Onslaught but without stun immunity as CI melee this is suicide.
