Gear

This is only suggested not recommended, this build is very flexible with the kind of weapons and armor you can use. I have found this setup to be the most efficient for hardcore leagus and not that expensive.

WEP= +1 gems +2 fire gems 1 handed weapon with crit preferably
shield= ev/es or ar/es with life/mana/spell dmg/res/crit any combo of those
helm= ev/ar and es with life/mana/resists
chest= carcass jack chest with good rolls, 5l IS NOT NEEDED FOR THIS BUILD!!
rings= life/mana/resists/fire spell dmg if possible
belt= sunblast belt for best dmg, if not possible just life mana armor and resists works great too
amulet= use atziris folible to lvl until your mana regen is high, then aimm for spell dmg/life/mana/res/%es/crit/crit multi any combination of those works fine
boots= can use the trapper boots if you want... id go for any ar/es boots with life/res/move speed and maybe mana, rainbowstrides are also an option
gloves= can use maligaros/aurseize but if you need the resists or life just get ar/es with life/mana/res/

Guide

Ok so first off I would say that aside from all the gems posted, the only REAL requirement to make this build is a high quality shock nova gem and a searing touch or + fire gems weapon.

Start by leveling with a searing touch or any spell dmg + fire gems wep. Some other uniques that may be useful to you will be atziri folible, which will make mana problems easier, and a goldrim to help with resists. Once you can use fire trap in a 3l or 4l you should be able to fly through to act 3 normal no problem. In the early stages stack up on life and aim to grab iron reflexes early.

Once you make it to cruel difficulty you want to have around 1.5k life and 400 or so mana. The big step in damage increase will happen once you can use the shock nova 4l and elemental equilibrium. Once you can get the rotation of shock nova trap, fire trap repeat going the damage will literally double. Use your bear traps on bosses to stun and hit them hard, and use freeze mine to deal with any touch packs of mobs AND help even more with elemental equilibrium.

Farm cruel ledge until 40-44 and make sure you can use shock nova trap with fire trap and ee. You should fly through all the cruel content without any trouble at all as long as your armor isnt under 10%.

Once you get to merciless difficulty you want to be around lvl 50-55. Farm the ledge again until 60-64 and in your passive tree you want to head to the reduced mana node to the right of scion start, as well as up to eldritch battery. By this point you should have around 2-3k hp depending on gear. Super high hp isnt a requirement for this build because your mana shield will be taking 30% of your damage and you will also be running a good lvl arctic armor. From my experience you can get around 100-120 mana regen without much trouble just frmo the passive tree and using discipline and clarity. Only use a lvl of arctic armour that you can sustain effectively so you still have some mana regen for skills and mind over matter. Try to pick up mind over matter and eb anywhere from 65-70 depending on gear once again.
