Resolute Technique can be a fast grab but be sure to have all of Purity of Essence tree (minus the essence less you want it) and Blood Drinker berfore considering Blood Magic. Life Gain on hit support a nice have first also.Vaal Pact is open to interpretation and can easily be dumped back to Diamond Flesh for 3 points spendable elsewhere. Without Vaal Pact your life leach takes up to 3 seconds to apply to your health pool (note: not life on hit, that is always instant).
Unwavering Stance can be taken for 0% stun chance but even with Iron Reflexes ( with IR you have 0% evade and enemies melee always hit, spells always hit) you still have a base 5% chance to evade making other supports like Blind still optionable.
This is heavily geared towards survivability and leaves every weapon combination open. Nice to have if you happen to find an awesome Unique weapon. It does lack on bonus damage through passives though.
I tried several attempts as duelist but find they lack easy early access to hp and resists to be unreliable in HC. I have been finding surviving is better than killing faster in most situations, and the ability to run from a bad area key to reset rings for resists.
Act 3 Should always be treated as 2 levels higher than it says especially Ebony Barracks (General G{fire/lightning}), The Hedge (named bird does massive cold crits), Piety (lightning). Highly suggested to fight these severely over level in HC mode.
Even at 5 levels higher Dominus is nasty, lots of lighnting damage and 3 exile type protectors with zombie chargers that blow up on close contact. Seperate the exiles, kill one a t a time. Cold based cyclone attack one, a fire based, and a lightning based. Dominus first form is hit and run, set up portals to get out when its bad. Second form i find to be tank and spank.
