Advanced crit shadow build using Blood Rage and Flicker strike to freeze-lock enemies and finish 1 by 1 fastThis build is HEAVILY gear dependent, but crazy fun once you get going. Requires lots of energy shield and evasion to stay alive. It is a hybrid "Invalesco" dual wielding dagger build with a focus on frost skills to freeze lock enemies and teleport around the battle field avoiding attacks with flicker strike. Flicker strike will be your main skill and if you mitigate it properly, you will teleport so quick and shred through your enemies almost nothing can hit you.
- I'm still tweaking but this has worked well so far for both battlefield control and INSANELY fast single target elimination.
The strategy here is to activate Blood Rage, blast your enemies with an Ice Spear volley, and begin crashing through with unlimited Flicker strike on soaring frenzy charges. Flicker Strike, Dual Strike, and Ice Spear will be your main active skills. Elemential Prolif will freeze lock a massive group of enemies allowing you a brief moment to go in with Flicker strike without being touched. The key to getting an insanely fast unlimited Flicker Strike is combining it with Multistrike. For utilities if you get in a bind or desync, you can keep at a distance with a Freezing pulse or combine it with Cyclone to get both - and your crits should still have a freeze effect around you while crushing them to rebuild your Frenzy charges.
Important Passive nodes to take are Ghost Reaver for Shield regen and Chaos Inoculation will make you immune to the constant Blood Rage damage as well as the nasty chaos penalties found in Merciless difficulty.
Keep Cast When Damage Taken leveled relatively low, around level 4-5 and scale Cold Snap to meet its parameters. At level 4 CWDT you only need to take 620 damage to trigger and a Cold Snap gem on par will have a 30% chance to freeze targets around you (not including bonuses from Hatred and Passives).
Took the Kraityn reward for the Resists in Normal and Oak in Cruel for the Damage. You'll have more than enough frenzy charges with Blood Rage so Kill em All in Merciless for the extra passive point.
Suggested Gear:
Helm: Goldrim - progress to high ES with tri rez
Gloves: Slitherpinch/Maligaro's - fast attack speed + mana & life leech/crit chance & mult
Boots: Sin Trek - very good shadow boots, high ES and Evasion
Chest: High ES will work, Crypt or Carnal armor with both high Evasion and Energy Shield combo for best of both
Amulet: Eye of Chayula - Use for Cannot be Stunned, otherwise look for an ammy that adds to Crit Multiplier
Rings: Resistances and Mana leech are priority
Daggers: 200+ damage with enhanced Crit, Attack speed, any modifiers that add Mana Leech and Crit Multiplier
For gear you're going to need High Physical Damage Daggers preferably with a bonus to Crits and Attack Speed. Armor you'll want a comfortable mix of Energy Shield and Evasion. Try going for a decent chest armor that has a comfortable balance of both while balancing your Rings and Ammys with both Mana Leech and Resists. Mana mitigation is very important in this build - I have 10% Mana leech and at times I still need to blast the flasks because the constant flickering is so quick it just eats up the blue!
The only main Con this build has (once you get mana management going) is Desync - it's worse than Leap slam, which makes this build ideal for Solo or small party play. You can still be VERY effective in a full party, but just be careful as Flicker strike can send you teleporting into a large unsuspecting army at random - and if you lag out, kiss 10% experience goodbye.

Please save yourself the time and effort of making this build... He spent 120 out of 120 points.. LoL Meanwhile, he's using 1 handed damage nodes while dual wielding.. Tell me how that works! Man, whoever comes up with these builds seriously must not play the game.

@Knighmare5986, 1 handed damage nodes apply to weapons that are held with '1 hand' such as daggers, claws and swords, the things they don't apply to are 2 handed weapons such as greatswords and axes, stuff like that. So there is nothing wrong with this build and he does know something about this game.

Hey guys thanks for your interest and your input. I actually wanted to update the Passive tree as I've made some minor adjustments but it's still pretty close. I do want to be clear you do NOT need to use 120/120 points for this build to work and be effective. I'm currently at level 68 using this and it's very effective, you just need decent gear and proper skill gems. I use Daggers cuz they're great for the Crit Damage and the Energy shield buffs you get in the tree. You want lots of physical and crit damage, and high attack speed.
Honestly Cyclone or Freezing pulse are just fun utility skills to use in a bind if you get stuck without frenzy charges, or desynced and need something to either roll through enemies or do a wave of quick freezing and run away. Flicker strike, Dual Strike, and Ice Spear will be your main skills while running Hatred and Discipline. I'll post my stats at level 70 tonight and try to get a video on here to demonstrate soon!
